Azerspace 1Azeri satellites: Draft amendments to the country’s tax code have been put forward to Parliament as part of the government’s attempts to diversify Azerbaijan’s economy away from oil and gas and to turn it into a serious competitor in the global telecommunications market.
Azerbaijan launched its first Azersat-1 satellite from the Guiana Space Center in 2013, and earlier this month announced that it had selected an unnamed partner to build a second one.
