Eurasian Economic Union talks FTZs: Around 40 countries across the world have expressed an interest in establishing free trade zone agreements with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), according to Sergey Naryshkin, the speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament, the State Duma. “Five countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have already made a Eurasian choice, and another 40 countries across the world have officially voiced their wish to set up a free trade zone with our integrated association,” he told delegates at an international conference in Astana today. Naryshkin also predicted that more Central Asia states would join the EEU which he described as “an adequate response to what is happening in the world and to world economic shocks.” ITAR-TASS
