Vietnamese dairy producer to build $2.7bn complex in Moscow

Cow vietnamVietnamese dairy producer TH Food Chain has announced that it is to build a $2.7bn complex outside Moscow, with the first $500m phase entailing the construction of cow-breeding and dairy-processing facilities. Work is expected to start next year and to be completed in 2017. On a visit to the site of the new farm, Moscow Oblast’s Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Stepanenko pledged to subsidise the farm to the tune of 3 roubles for every litre of milk produced. “This is potentially a breakthrough in agricultural cooperation between the two countries and will be the driving force for future partnerships,” he said. “The TH Food Chain possesses advanced technologies that are not inferior to those of large dairy firms elsewhere in the world. I am really impressed with the application of technology of Vietnamese companies.”
